What is Conversion Rate Optimization?

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) refers to the process of optimizing your website so that visitors \’do something\’ besides reading the information. You can try to convince them to join a newsletter (like we do on this page), purchase a service (say our inexpensive SEO analysis service), book an appointment etc.

Why do we care about it?

Because just getting visitors to your medical website is not going to increase your patient bookings and grow your medical practice. These visitors will come to your website, find nothing that interests them and just leave.

With a proper Conversion Rate Optimization work done on your website, you can \”convert\” a percentage of these visitors and get them interested in your offering:

  • they can download useful resources, while also subscribing to your email list,
  • they can subscribe to your medical blog and come back every time you write something new,
  • they can even book an appointment with you.

All our clients care about RESULTS. It\’s normal, you wouldn\’t spend money blindly on a website or SEO service just for the sake of it.

How do we go about it?

Example:

One of our clients gets about 200 visitors/day, which is roughly 6,000 visitors every month. We chose not to pay for this traffic, it comes from our medical SEO work and a popular Facebook page they manage.

If they had a 1% conversion rate, it would mean their website got them 60 leads – visitors who did \’something\’: subscribed to the medical newsletter, booked an appointment etc.

How do we DOUBLE the leads?

1% is on the low side of the internet marketing spectrum, so there\’s clearly room to grow.

We can get our clients 120 leads by simply asking them to pay for some Google Ads or Facebook Ads. Depending on the CPC (Cost Per Click), these 6,000 extra visitors every month can cost them few thousand bucks or a lot more.

orthodontist in duncanville tx, for instance, has a CPC of $111,76, which means that, if you run Google Ads for this keyword, when a visitor clicks on your ad, kaboom! you pay 100+ bucks.

Multiply this with 6,000, our \’target\’ traffic, because I\’m already getting a headache from all these numbers.

As a comparison, our most expensive Medical SEO plan ($2,000) costs a less than 20 clicks, while the most affordable plan would set you back 7 clicks (probably what you\’d spend in half an hour of running your ads).

OK, back to our main problem:

I still need to double my client\’s leads and, ideally, not have them sell their house for this.

What do I do?

I DOUBLE their conversion rates (at least).

This means that, instead of having just 60 people \’do something\’ on their website, I turn 120 of them into leads.

Perfectly achievable with few CRO tricks:

  • lose the huge menus, people get overwhelmed and leave
  • create a good medical blog
  • have a clear CTA (Call to Action) on each page
  • properly use the \’hero\’ section (the one appearing under the logo – menu row)
  • write about the client\’s needs and problems, not yourself
  • proper use of testimonials
  • use of good images, but not too gory (especially for medical websites) etc.
